Edmond Hyundai Promises Oil Changes for 3 years

Performance and consistency are the drivers of success when we purchase a piece of technology or even new car. To keep them up to par and operating at a high level, updates and regular care is required. It is obvious that gas is needed to get from point a to b, unless you have an electric car. Either way, some type of electric or gas power is needed to propel you around where you need to go. What about your oil? What do you need to check for to make sure everything is smooth and problem free?

Oil Level:

Checking your oil level regularly is an important habit to begin. To check your oil level is not as hard as it may seem. Before anything, make sure you have a paper towel or washcloth. We will talk about that later.

The first thing to do is to pop your hood. Look inside your car on the driver’s side, you should see the lever that will allow you to open the hood. Once your hood is slightly popped, feel around for the lever that allows the hood to rise all the way up (hardest part) and lastly search for the oil gauge. The gauge will look like a long thermometer once you pull it out. There is a minimum, and a maximum oil level to monitor.

To view this, wipe the oil off of the gauge with your cloth or paper towel. You can use your hand, but then you will realize that oil is slimy and nasty. To get rid of the sliminess, the first instinct is to wipe it on your pants. This is not what we recommend at Edmond Hyundai, don’t ruin your pants or washer machine by wiping oil on them. This is a party foul.  

Save yourself the trouble and use your cloth or paper towel then stick the gauge back into to the oil compartment. Upon the second viewing, you will get a clear reading. Too low oil level will be below the minimum line, too much oil level will be over the maximum line.

Low oil will lead to a decrease in car performance, burning oil smell, engine clunking and overheating. All of these can lead to further problems that might be beyond repair.

Too much oil and the more the merrier does not apply here. Instead, think more oil more problems. Overflowing of oil can happen if there is too much in your car, burning oil smell is another side effect and smoke from the engine compartment. Only place rising smoke is accepted and cherished is on a grill or a smoker.  Never from your engine.

Pets For Sale at Edmond Hyundai

Do you need a new friend? A friend that will always be on your side and your number one fan?

Edmond Hyundai knows that we all do! That’s why Edmond Hyundai is hosting the Free To Live Animal Shelter for an adoption event on Thursday, September 27th, 2018 from 2 to 6 pm.

We’re excited to partner with Free To Live, which is known as the largest nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter in Oklahoma! This shelter, founded in 1984, will spay/neuter and vaccinate all animals pre-adoption. Free To Live provides their animals with 100% nutrition based food and their dog kennels and cat catteries are spa-like with large cooling fans, heaters, and daily bed cleanings!

Edmond Hyundai is so excited for this event and hopeful that it will be a success that we are offering to pay for the $80 dog adoption fee!

 Hyundai is celebrating 20 years of saving lives and creating hope through fundraising during the month of September, Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. This month of fundraising is referred to as Hyundai Hope On Wheels and sponsored at Edmond Hyundai yearly.

A donation is made by Hyundai for every new Hyundai vehicle sold so that over $145 million has been raised in the past 20 years. Edmond Hyundai is excited to raise money alongside Hyundai to help children fight cancer.

So far this month, Hyundai has presented 5 hospitals across the country with hundreds of thousands of dollars in Grants to support pediatric cancer research. Through these Grants, Rady Children’s Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Uh Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, and Heroes-Columbia University Irving Medical Center will further pediatric cancer research.

The money earned through Hyundai Hope On Wheels enables research into pediatric cancer prevention and raises awareness for child cancer. You can join Hyundai in the fight to prevent child cancer through donations, spreading awareness, and/or buying a new Hyundai!

This September, Hyundai Hope On Wheels has also announced partnerships with Us Youth Soccer and WWE to promote awareness for pediatric cancer.
