This event ran from 12:30-6:30 on June 15, 2018 and by contributions of staff and the surrounding community we were able to meet donation needs and exceed them extensively. All participating donors were given a free oil change by Edmond Hyundai and a free t-shirt by the American Red Cross.

We wish to send a personal thank you to the staff of Edmond Hyundai and the American Red Cross for coming together for this event.

You can also donate to support the efforts of the American Red Cross on July 20, 2018 at Lawton Kia in Lawton, Oklahoma. To sign up for this donation event please visit lawtonkia.com.

There are quite a few different lights, buttons, and knobs in any given vehicle. Some of the most important symbols will reside on your dashboard. They all serve a purpose, primarily to inform the driver of any mishaps or potential issues with your vehicle. The image above is one of an engine temperature light.

On occasion, you might not know what one means, or have a misunderstanding of its meaning. Understanding rather than having to decipher them is important. Knowing the meanings of common warning lights, like the engine temperature light, can help to maintain your vehicle to last long term. Not only to save money in your pocket but to salvage your cars resale potential.

At Edmond Hyundai, it is in our values to support customers in store and out. This is to ensure longevity of your vehicle and your personal safety. We’re here to talk about one of the more confusing symbols: the engine temperature warning light. Especially in the Oklahoma weather, you want to be as aware of all lights that could be of importance this coming season.

This symbol may look intimidating, and no, it is not a sailboat in the ocean. It’s important to know though. Having this symbol is not a good thing, it means that your engine is overheating. Oklahoma weather is freezing or burning. When it is burning, this light can appear.

What happens next? First, turn off your AC, you need your hottest setting, this will pacify the heat inside of your engine. Turn it all the way up, in full throttle. Next, turn off the unnecessary items; radio, phone chargers, etc. Then, pull over to a safe location, turn your vehicle off and wait.

Let your engine rest and settle if possible; finally, check your coolant level. This is located under your hood; it will have a cap that you remove. If unsure, check your car guide or use Internet connection to find references before continuing. There is no need to injure yourself in this case.

If the coolant level does appear low, with a high probability of it being so, add water or coolant, you should always keep an emergency supply of either in your car for safety.

This could be a continuing problem, if it is don’t ignore it. See your mechanic or ask a referral, Edmond Hyundai can also check out your car for maintenance issues. There could be a leak in your fluid well. You are now knowledgeable of the symbol, maintenance, and precautions of an overheating engine in case if it ever does appear.

For assistance in understanding different warning lights in your vehicle, like the engine temperature light, visit our Service Department online or in person. Classic Bel Air

Hyundai had a very impressive lineup of new vehicles available to check out at the International Auto Show in Oklahoma City. The event, which is annual, showcased the best of the new technology and design in the automotive industry.

Hyundai brought it’s classic lineup of the Elantra, Sonata and Santa Fe, all of which were sharp and stood out in the clean layout of the Hyundai space.

To update OKC on what’s new with Hyundai, the manufacturer also showed the new Hyundai Kona, an exciting SUV that is as attractive as it is adventurous, as well as the Hyundai Ioniq, one of the most promising hybrid vehicles on the market today.

In addition to the fantastic Hyundai’s on display, the auto show had fun with classic cars that we rarely get the pleasure of seeing.

The upcoming 2018 Hyundai Kona is sure to be a hit with Hyundai customers as well as those who are looking for a small but spacious crossover option.
The Kona has a distinct design from the other SUVs and crossovers on the road. The narrow headlights, intricate grille and sleek body style will make the Hyundai Kona appealing to many Oklahoma buyers.
As far as technology goes, Hyundai found a way to out do its usual top-of-the-line tech package. This 2018 Hyundai has it all, including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HD radio and 4G telematics. It also features the exciting head-up display, which projects key dash figures in your line of sight. This not only makes you feel like you’re finally driving the uber-advanced vehicle your kid-self imagined would be available in 2018, but it also helps keep you and your passengers safe.
Finding a flaw in the Hyundai Kona will be difficult, especially if you’re looking at its economic features. The Kona is perfect for the budget-minded Oklahomans because it is projected to be moderately prices and get up to 42.2 miles per gallon.
For more information on the Kona, or to pre-order your Hyundai Kona to get it as soon as they are available in Oklahoma City or Edmond, call us at Edmond Hyundai. Our Hyundai cars for sale includes the Hyundai Tucson, Hyundai Santa Cruz, Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Hyundai Palisade, Hyundai Kona, and the Hyundai Venue. Girl Scouts inside Edmond Hyundai

Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma in front of Edmond Hyundai

Edmond Hyundai was thrilled to be able to partner with the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma to host a badge-program event to promote automotive education. The event was a BIG success, with over 50 Girl Scouts in attendance learning keys to automotive essentials such as changing a tire and checking fluids, as well as emergency preparation and safe driving tips.

We set up three stations to be taught by our best maintenance professionals. The event started at 6 p.m. and wrapped with an open question portion where the attendees could ask any questions they had about cars, driving, maintenance and the automotive profession… There were quite a few.

We at Edmond Hyundai would like to thank each person who helped this event be such a success, especially those who attended the event. We are hopeful that this event not only prepared those in attendance to drive safely and take care of a vehicle responsibly, but also inspired some of those same attendees to consider a profession in automotive. Whether that be in maintenance, sales or design, we know our industry would only be better for it.

Edmond Hyundai partnered up with the American Red Cross of Oklahoma again to help replenish blood supplies and save lives.

On Friday, October 13, 2017 our Halloween themed blood drive was held at our OKC dealership, where we had many people come donate, and even had a few first-time donors decide to help our cause.

This drive was successful because we collected enough donations to help save 39 lives! Stay connected with Edmond Hyundai on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, so that you can be part of the next blood drive.

Hyundai has officially announced the 2018 Accent, and has given it a bit of a redesign to separate it from its predecessors. The redesign will also make Oklahomans driving the new 2018 Accent stand out from the crowd.
With its debut at the 2017 auto show in Toronto, the 2018 Accent has been expanded with a slightly longer and wider frame. But aside from the expansion, the Accent returns with its expected sleek and smooth design that also displays a hint of luxury at an affordable cost.
This new car will be equipped with a 1.6-liter inline-four engine producing a functional 132-horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque, being available in both six-speed automatic and manual. Hyundai has also has stated that the fuel efficiency of the Accent will increase by 7 percent, compared to last year’s model which had mpg splits of 37/27 highway/city.
The interior of the 2018 Accent received a very attractive boost. It comes installed with a fully equipped dash, including a 7.0-inch touch screen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear-view camera, heated seats, emergency braking and numerous safety options.
Pricing for the 2018 Hyundai Accent have not yet been released, but are expected to be similar to last year’s model’s release price of $15,830. For any questions you may have regarding the Accent, please contact us at Edmond Hyundai.

If you are in the market for a new or used Hyundai, you may want to consider leveraging your current car, truck or SUV in a trade deal. Everyone wants to get the most for their trade, but not everyone knows what a dealership is looking at the determine price… Lucky for you, Oklahoma, we know a thing or two about how dealerships think. Here are the best tips to get top dollar when you want to trade in your vehicle.

1. Know your car’s value. Do some research. Go online to see what other cars are selling for. Look at models that are exactly like yours and ones a model year newer and older. Then get a Kelley Blue Book value estimate. These things will tell you what the market dictates your vehicle is worth, not just what your local car salesman is willing to offer you. This is a very powerful negotiation tactic.

2. See your car the way the dealer does. Ask yourself what the dealership will have to fix before they can put it on the lot. Take note of any dents, scratches or fundamental issues, and factor that into the price you expect to receive.

3. Clean it! If you want a dealership to offer you top dollar for your car, truck or SUV, you should make sure it sparkles. The prettier the car, the more money someone will offer you for it.

4. Have some evidence. Have you changed your oil every 6 months for the past 10 years? Did you just buy new tires? Bring the receipts! Giving the dealership proof of a well maintained vehicle is one way to make sure you get a better offer price.

5. Keep your control. Don’t give up your car keys if you have reservations. You can always walk away from a deal, that is your greatest negotiating tactic.

Getting your car ready for a trade is one of the best ways to get a good down payment for your next new Hyundai. Once you get these steps finished, give Edmond Hyundai a call. We offer top dollar for trade ins and have the best Hyundai selection in Oklahoma City.

Happy travels, Oklahoma!
